01
The firm

Analysis that survives
the investment committee.

Genesis Ray is a boutique consultancy for the energy and resources sectors. We are built around a research function — proprietary models, spatial datasets, and sector analysts — rather than around a slide template.

Every mandate is delivered by the people who build the models. That means findings you can interrogate, assumptions you can change, and outputs your lenders, regulators, and investment committees can stand behind.

Our capabilities How we work
  • 01
    Sector knowledge

Analysts who have worked the same markets as our clients — translating disruption into a position you can act on.

  • 02
    Value creation

Rigorous financial modelling and due diligence that turns a thesis into a financeable decision.

  • 03
    Technical depth

Engineering and geospatial problems resolved into practical, defensible answers — not directional advice.

  • 04
    Risk & ESG

Compliance, decarbonisation pathways, and resilience frameworks built into the analysis from day one.

02
Research & analytics

A working research desk,
not a research page.

Our models, spatial databases, and analytical platforms are built in-house and maintained between engagements — so a mandate starts from a live evidence base, not a blank page.

  • Data layer. Asset registries, infrastructure geometry, resource rasters, load profiles, tariff and policy records — curated and version-controlled.
  • Model layer. Dispatch and fuel-demand models, site-suitability scoring, wake and CFD flow modelling, techno-economic and project finance models.
  • Analytical layer. Spatial machine learning — object detection, land-use classification, change detection — applied to real project questions.
  • Delivery layer. WebGIS interfaces and decision-support tools handed over to your team, with training, so the analysis outlives the engagement.

Method

How an engagement runs.

A four-stage system designed so that findings are testable at every step — and so the model stays yours when we leave.

STAGE 01

Frame

Deep-dive sessions to define the decision, the constraints, and the evidence that would actually change your mind.

STAGE 02

Model

Data assembly and model build — tailored frameworks, spatial layers, and financial structures documented as we go.

STAGE 03

Test

Scenario and sensitivity runs, third-party validation, and the stress cases your investment committee will ask for.

STAGE 04

Transfer

Handover of models, data, and tooling — with training, so your team can rerun the analysis without us.

On methodology. Every deliverable ships with its assumption register, data lineage, and model documentation. If a number moves, you can see exactly which input moved it.

It provided insights across six countries and became the foundation for our long-term procurement strategy.
